THE RESTORATION OF THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID
“The Heavenly Church of Zion Manifested Through a Worshipping People”

By Alma M. Perry

“After this I will return and will “build again” the tabernacle of David. Which is fallen down, and “I will build again” the ruins thereof and I will set it up.” Acts 15:16

“Ye also, as lively stones are “built up” a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” I Peter 2:5

“…and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all My will,” Acts 13:22b. It is only the man or woman who is after the heart of God that will fulfill all His will. Truly this was the attitude of the Son of God Himself in Hebrews 10:7, “Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me,) to do Thy will, O God.”

Only one who loves the Lord more than their own lives can be a true worshipper of the Father. It was not an Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor or teacher or any other outward function of ministry that could die on the cross for our sins.

It could only be the “Son,” someone not only related to the Father, but of the same nature as the Father, the nature of divine love, that would give His life for the sins of the world. So must be the nature of the living stones that the Lord Jesus will use to build an eternal house that He will dwell in for ever, and that is our lives. “We must love Him even as He loved the Father. This is the heart that the Father saw in David and this is why He promised David an eternal throne, because of his great love for God. Just think that David had such a heart for the presence of God that he said, “Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed; I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids; until I find out a place for the Lord. An habitation for the mighty God of Jacob,” Psalms 132:3-5.

So we can understand why of all the tabernacles, Moses, David and Solomon, that the Lord said in Act 15:16, He would “build again” David’s tabernacle. The reason being is that the place where God dwells must be made up of hearts of those that truly love Him as David did for these are the worshippers that the Father seeketh that will truly please Him. “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth, John 4:23, 24.

According to end-time prophecy we have now entered into the Third Millennium which is called the “Kingdom Age.” In this age we are living in is the Day of the manifestation of the fullness of the Kingdom of God in the earth. From the time of John the Baptist through the ministry of Jesus Christ on earth, through the ministry of the early Church; much reference is made to the burden that is upon the heart of the Father. This burden is the full manifestation of the Kingdom of His Son in the earth. Colossians 1:12-13 states, “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us, meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.”

The Tabernacle of David the Realm of the Holy of Holies

The true Church is a spiritual, heavenly Church. Made up of individuals who are birth of the Spirit and who are walking in the Spirit, a prophetic people who are functioning out of the realm of throne in the ministry of prophet, priest and king. This is the realm of ministry in the throne that David ministered out of that is to be an eternal ministry through the eternal reign of the Lord Jesus Christ with and through His Church the Body of Christ. The Apostle James quoted from the prophecy of Amos concerning this in Acts 15: 16, “After this I will return, and will “build again” the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down. And “I will build again” the ruins thereof, and I will set it up. That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom My Name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.”

This “build again” is an actual restoration of the Tabernacle of David, God’s true House that He will dwell in, in the earth, through the lives of a corporate people. I Peter 2:5, “Ye also, as lively stones are “built up” a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” We all know that the Lord Jesus by the person of the Holy Ghost is about the business of building His house. But it has never been made clear what is the function or the ministry of this house upon the earth that He is building. In the New Testament this prophecy of the restoration of the Tabernacle of David is the only dwelling place of God that is mentioned that is to be restored in the earth in the last days.

The tabernacle of David in our day speaks of the realm of the Holy of Holies manifested through His overcoming Body in the earth. This realm is the throne realm in heaven; it is the realm of His habitation, the realm of divine government and rule of heaven and earth. Remember in Revelation 3:21, the overcomer is invited by the Lord to share His throne with Him even as He shares the throne of His Father. This realm of the heavenly Tabernacle of David will not only be a realm of unceasing worship but it will also be a realm for unceasing authority and rule by the Lord Jesus Christ through a people who has been birth spiritually into the unseen realm of the throne to presently rule and reign with the King of Kings the Lord Jesus Christ in the Third Day. This is the ministry of the prophet, priest and king.

As we are birth in the Spirit we come into the knowledge of the full truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We find out that He reigns triumphantly and He can reign in us. For this cause we can’t help but be thankful to Him for what He has done in laying down His life for us that we might live in union with Him forever. Oh, what a wonder of God! Truly we are made glad responding with unceasing praise, rejoicing as we are continually birth into the realm of the throne of Zion where the inhabitants of the heavenly Jerusalem are rejoicing in His eternal presence.

It is in this “place” of His presence in the throne, that we learn to reign victoriously over Satan and the powers of darkness who tries to hinder in every way the perfect will of God in our lives and in the Body of Christ from being manifest, if he is not resisted. Satan is resisted in our lives when we are birth in the Spirit, then coming into union with the Lord where we will take a stand in His presence giving Him unceasing praise. This unceasing praise unto God will cause us to reign with Christ over the enemy in every situation. For the Lord Himself inhabits the praises of His people. Only then can we progress into the full stature of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the work of the Lord, as He manifests Himself in us and through us in this day of His glorious power as His Kingdom is manifested in the earth. He will manifest Himself in our lives, bodies, situations and ministry through unceasing praise where the “works of Satan will be destroyed, and the Kingdom of God will be increased.

The "Call"

The call that the Lord has chosen to place upon our ministry in Washington, D. C. is one of the birthing of an overcoming people out of the United States and other nations. A spiritual people that will function out of the realm of the throne in the Third Day in which the Spirit of God has revealed to us that we are in the dawning of this Day, for it is in this Day that He the Lord Jesus Christ will “build again” the Tabernacle of David in the Body of Christ.

We were given the revelation and impartation of “prophetic praise and worship intercession” some years ago. But it is at this time that we have matured spiritually into union with Christ in His throne that we can begin to fully function in this ministry. For years we were tried and test by the Lord. Through severe trials we have overcome corporate into a “place of His presence,” where the Holy Spirit revealed to us with conformation from Hebrews 12:22, “But ye are come unto Mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem…” Three months later the Spirit of God revealed to us Psalms 87: 5-7, “And of Zion it shall be said, this and that man was born in her, and the highest Himself shall establish her. The Lord shall count, when He writeth up the people, that this man was born there. As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there, all my springs are in thee.”

He also revealed that one of the reasons for the severe trials besides the purity of spirit He was bringing forth in us;  was the need of the foundation of Zion to be laid in our lives according to Isaiah 28:16, “Therefore, thus saith the Lord God, behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a Stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation. He that believeth shall not make haste.” As we all know that foundation is Christ in us the hope of glory.

Then for the second time in nine years we were told by the Holy Spirit to “PRAISE HIM.” We were given this revelation through prophetic song according to Psalms 113:3, “From the rising of the Sun unto the going down of the same the Lord’s Name is to be praised.” For years we praised God in our weekly Wednesday and Sunday services, and on the first and third Saturday of every month. But we continued to experience defeat from Satan and the heavens did not open to give the needed “rains” of the Holy Spirit as we believed for. But after He led us to PRAISE HIM “DAILY” from the rising of the Sun to the going down of the same; in the early morning hours corporately on the phone and in the evening Satan and the powers of darkness were resisted and the heavens began to open in our lives and the ministry. Living waters of divine revelation begin to flow from the throne of God bringing the manifestation of a supernatural life in God that we had never experience.

This teaching is the result of the heavens being open and the revelation of the Holy Spirit revealing to us that surely the Lord was manifesting Himself in His Church in this day to “build again” the Tabernacle of David that “place” behind the veil in the midst of His Church on earth that He may dwell in the midst of His people to prepare them for His appearing to the earth. Then the Lord began to teach us the functioning of this heavenly ministry. Bringing us into knowledge of the heavenly priesthood, kingship and the restoration of an Elijah ministry in the last days.

The ministry of the prophet, priest and king - the Functioning of the Tabernacle of David

This ministry of the prophet, priest and king is the manifestation of the Melchesdek priesthood in the Kingdom of His dear Son. Which is an eternal ministry stated in Revelation 5:10, “And hast made us unto our God, kings and priests; and we shall reign on the earth.” This is a prophetic ministry of being both king and priest according to Revelation 1: 5b-6, “Unto Him that loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

But we must first function as priest, giving our lives to minister unto God so that we can overcome self, people, the world and principalities and powers. Then we will come into a reigning position as Kings unto God.  The nature and realm of kingship is to reign and rule between good and evil, also between righteousness and unrighteousness.
Once in the heavenly position of being joined to the Lord in kingship we can then begin to function in the ministry of the prophetic, to proclaim “the word of the Lord." Because only in a spiritual reigning position of priest and king can we hear what is known as a “creative word” to proclaim on the earth in the prophetic ministry.

The priest ministers to God. Priesthood speaks of reconciliation, intercession and worship. In this realm we will find joy, gladness, shouting, dancing, a realm of victory and prosperity in the lives of a people walking in divine unity and oneness with the Lord and with each other. It is through the ministry of the priesthood that we come into union with the Lord in His throne. It is here that we hear and know the heart of God. This ministry unto Him speaks of a true union of spirit and of mind and heart with the Lord. It is also an eternal ministry unto God. It is through the function of the priestly ministry that the Lord is released to “build again” the Tabernacle of David.

We can see this in scripture in Isaiah 62:6,7 “I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem (heavenly), which shall never hold their peace day nor night, ye that are the Lord’s remembrancers, (original Hebrew), keep not silent. And give Him no rest, till He establish, and till He makes Jerusalem (heavenly) a praise in the earth.” In the tabernacle that David built there was continual praise and worship of God 24 hours a day. In Isaiah 52:8 says, “Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice, with the voice together shall they sing. For they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion.”

In order to maintain ascendancy in the heavenly realm of the throne there must be birth into the life of the worshipper a heart flowing continuously with song the very atmosphere of heaven. The spirit of song speaks of ascendancy. When you think of singing birds such as the Lark, the higher they ascend in the air the more they sing. This spirit of song springs out of divine union with the Lord in His heavenly position in the throne. For scripture says of Him in His great love for the Father, “Saying, I will declare Thy Name unto My brethren, in the midst of the Church will I sing praise unto Thee,” Hebrews 2:12.

This spirit of song flows in the heart of the true watchmen of God, for its very existence stems from heart union with the Son in His love for the Father and His Kingdom. So we are compelled not to hold our peace day or night. For it is His delight that the heavenly Jerusalem would manifest in the midst of His people when they gather for surely the presence of the Lord is revealed in such a heavenly atmosphere and lives are eternally changed.

It is here that one began to flow in the prophetic realm. Above all the outward ministries of the Church, the priestly ministry is a hidden ministry that is the most sacrificial and the most important of all ministries in the Kingdom of God. Why is this you would ask? In this ministry there has to be a true death to self and the world in order to continually live in His presence to hear His voice and to see what He sees. Out of this ministry the Prophet’s ministry is birth, which is a ministry in which the Lord speaks His creative Word through that person or people which will come to pass in the earth concerning His Kingdom.

The prophet has the serious and solemn ministry of speaking or proclaiming the “Word of the Lord” to God’s people that it may come to pass in the earth. This ministry is nothing new, it is of the divine nature of the Father who said in Genesis 1:3, And God said, let there be light; and there was light. Light would have never been unless God spoke it. This is the ministry of the creative Word of God, which is in the nature of Jesus Christ which is in the nature of every believer who is born of the Spirit and has come into a maturity in the Spirit. This has to do with the manifestation of the sons of God spoken in Romans 8, which speaks of a people who have come into glorification according II Thessalonians 1:10, “When He shall come to be glorified in His saints and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.”

We can also see something of this ministry in the life of Elijah who as prophet stood in the presence of God and spoke a prophetic judgment upon Israel to Ahab. “As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain there years, but according to my word.” This type of prophetic proclamation will be in operation through the prophetic ministry of those who have been birth in Zion at the throne. This prophetic ministry will function in fullness in and through the Kingdom of God that is being manifested in the earth through the lives of an overcoming people.

Kingship speaks of government, rule, dominion and authority. Also in this realm in the function of divine government and rule there will be the judgment of God going forth through this overcoming people against Satan, sin, and all ungodliness. This functioning of Kingship also speaks of reigning with Him in His governmental rule and authority concerning His Kingdom in the earth concerning the Nations. We must remember Kings reign! This reigning can only happen in the lives of those who have identified with the Lord in His death, burial, ascension and resurrection. A people who have become overcomers to the throne according to Revelation 3:21, those who having overcome to the throne have come into union with the Lord in His throne through the “rest of faith.” For the natural man cannot reign, only the spiritual man, those who are living by faith in Him can maintain a place of abiding in spiritual dominion over Satan and all His powers in the heavenly realm.

This function in the Kingdom of God on the earth through the ministry of the prophet priest and king is an overcoming people who will rule and reign with the Lord through the ministry of the prophetic word in teaching, proclamation and praise and worship in the earth in the Third Day. In Acts 15:16, the Word of the Lord says “…I will return and will build again.” This returning is the returning of the Lord Jesus Christ in the last days. This returning is the coming of the Lord. In the Greek the word is “parousia” which means “to be inundated and surrounded with the manifest presence of the Lord.”

The Lord's Return in Glory in His Overcoming Church

The Lord will return in two stages in the last days. The first stage is a returning in glory to indwell an overcoming Church. This is when He will manifest Himself in us. This is spoken of in John 14: 21, “He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me. And he that loveth Me, shall be loved of my Father. And I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him. And mentioned again by the Apostle Paul in II Thessalonians 1:10 states, “When He shall come to be glorified in His saints and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed in that day.”

The word says in I John 3:8b…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil.” The Lord Jesus will be manifest through a people functioning in the Kingdom of God on the earth in the ministry of prophet, priest and king to destroy the works of the devil as He is manifested in us in glory.

When the Spirit of God mentioned through the Apostle James in Acts 15:16, that “…He will “build again” the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down, and “I will build” the ruins thereof, and I will set it up;” he goes on to say verse seventeen, “That the residue of men might seek after the Lord. And all the Gentiles, upon whom My Name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.” The Lord’s plan is to birth a people out of every nation, tongue, kindred, and people that He will manifest Himself in revealed glory in the last days in His kingdom upon the earth.

The building of this tabernacle of David begins in the hearts of an overcoming people, a people who are ascending to the top of the mountain of seemingly impossible difficulties in their lives. This ascension, which consists of a living faith that is continually praising and worshipping God, brings ascension above the impossible situation in our lives. This process is a birthing in Zion, the place of God’s throne where He reigns. This is the function of the priestly ministry unto the Lord, the place and position of the overcomer, the Bride of Christ, reigning and in dominion with the Lord in the spiritual realm over all circumstances. This is the secret of full overcoming so that there will be an actual manifestation of victory in the earth in any situation as we are birth into this heavenly place in the Spirit and maintain our position with the Lord in this place of His abiding rest.

We arrive into this place of the Spirit and maintain our position by a life of waiting upon the Lord in continual praise and worship unto Him. But it cannot be just any type of praise and worship; we must sing what is prophetic, meaning songs that are revealed to us by the Spirit of God. And the “stand” must be one of “triumphant praise.” That is celebrating the victory that has already been won at Calvary. We are not trying to get victory but our stand is to celebrate in our hearts through praise and worship and rejoicing what He has already done.

“Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto Thy Holy Name, and to triumph in Thy praise.” Psalm 106:47

“When we can maintain a superior position of reigning in an abiding place of Christ triumphant victory; which is a place of authority in which we abide in the authority of His triumphant; we can then celebrate the victory that has already been won. This is called the triumphant of His praise. (Psalm 106:47), we will experience a demonstration of the rule of God quickly. I had heard many years ago by the Holy Spirit through a woman of God teaching at a conference that “we are not trying to get victory in a situation, but we are enforcing the victory that has already been won through the Lord Jesus Christ at Calvary.” I heard it and I knew it was true according to scripture but I did not know how to walk in this powerful truth. After many years of studying the ministry of intercession and seeking God to live in that realm of the throne “the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” II Corinthians 4:6b, began to shine in my heart through a word of wisdom by the Holy Spirit.
The Ministry of Praise Bringing Ascendancy to Worship in His Presence

The Holy Spirit gave me the simple words from scripture “PRAISE HIM!” As a matter of fact He quickened it to me twice in the space of nine years through two difference songs that each related to His character, authority and His worthiness to be praised. Many people have believed the concept that praise is earthly and it is something of the outer court of the soul. Or it deals mainly with warfare against the enemy. And that if we want to come into God’s presence we are to just worship Him. These beliefs are not the full truth of the heavenly realm of God’s throne that is taught in scripture.

If you count the scriptures in the Bible that states to “praise God,” you will find that there are many scriptures inspired by the Holy Ghost to “Praise Him.” In other words you have to mature into a life and attitude of true praise which is true worship as a lifestyle unto God. Praise is an utterance in song of what God has already done, and who He is especially through His Son. We then come into the realm and life of pure worship in which we are changed by His manifest presence.

The Bible does teach repeatedly the power of praise bringing a breakthrough when we are in a battle with the enemy in areas that we cannot get victory in such as in II Chronicles 20 or Act 16. It is true that the Word of God also teaches that “the Father seeketh true worshippers that will worship the Father in spirit and in truth,” John 4:23. But the great truth that so many of us lack is that “praise” is the only “way” that will bring ascension into His presence that we can worship Him. This is why we can only come to know God by what He has done for us. Knowing what He has done for us reveals who He really is, and as His character is revealed to us then we can worship Him for who He is, because now we know who He is that we can rightly worship Him.

One man of God states, “The Horn of God is the Praises of all God’s people. This is a people near to Him. When you praise Him then you will be remembered in heaven. Then God will rend the heavens and come down, when we praise. When we praise and worship God the door of the throne opens. Psalms 68:1 states, Let God arise and His enemies be scattered. When will He arise? When we praise Him! This is when Zion the place of His triumphant victory is manifested in our lives and in the midst of a people in the earth. The Lord Himself will manifest Himself in the hearts of a people, in the midst of a people and in their circumstances when we continually praise and worship Him for what He has already done.

We see it so clearly in Psalms 24: 7-10, “Lift up your heads, O ye gates and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors. And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is the King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah.

PHOPHECY...
In the days that we are living in it is the desire and will of the Lord that an overcoming people will arise in every city. This is where He will restore the tabernacle of David in His Church in the earth. It is only as a people give themselves to the Lord that He may “build again” a praising Church that each city will be protected from the great evils of Satan in this day. It is the will of the devil to destroy and bring devastation in every realm of life. As spoken of in I John 3”8b,”…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

Satan’s plan is to bring widespread devastation in every area of life in the last days, all over the world. This devastation of the enemy has already begun, and the only protection in our lives and cities will be the Lord arising through an over coming people that He can “build again” the tabernacle of David, a heavenly praising victorious Church, to destroy the works of the devil, and to established His Kingdom in the earth that He may be glorified.
